Bio / presentation
Ifö Center is an independent cultural hub founded by artists in a still-active ceramic factory located by a scenic lake in the small town of Bromölla, southern Sweden. The industrial site, previously closed to the public for decades, has been reimagined as a space for art creation, residencies, workshops, exhibitions, and guided tours. Visitors are introduced to both the area's industrial heritage and the contemporary artworks that reinterpret it. The outdoor gallery features works by international street artists and hosts Europe’s largest stoneware fountain, “Scanisaurus”, depicting two life-sized ceramic dinosaurs. The uniqueness of Ifö Center lies in its coexistence with an operating factory, blending industrial reality with creative practice. It represents a hybrid platform for artistic experimentation, cultural exchange, and post-industrial revitalization through art, rooted in the local context but with global connections.
