Vivero de Iniciativas Ciudadanas (VIC) is an independent platform based in Madrid focused on collaborative urban projects and social innovation processes. Since its foundation, VIC has promoted civic culture, co-design, and collective intelligence as tools to transform cities through participatory, inclusive, and sustainable practices. Its work includes urban research, cultural mediation, collaborative mapping (such as “Los Madriles”), and the development of open methodologies to strengthen social networks. VIC partners with public institutions, universities, grassroots collectives, and international networks to generate impact both locally and globally. Its approach blends art, architecture, urban planning, and participation, with a special emphasis on emerging citizen practices and new urban governance models.
