Bio / presentation
The Asociación de Mediadoras Culturales de Madrid (AMECUM) is a collective founded in 2015 that brings together professionals in mediation, education, and cultural management with the aim of making cultural mediation visible and professionalized as a tool for social transformation. AMECUM promotes theoretical and practical training, collaborative work, and the generation of knowledge from collective experience. Among its initiatives are the Colmado project, developed in collaboration with the National Museum of Decorative Arts and the National Library of Spain, and the mediaTECA, a mobile library specializing in cultural mediation. The association also drives actions to improve working conditions in the sector, such as the Group of Material Conditions and the development of reports on the professional situation of cultural mediators. Through these activities, AMECUM seeks to strengthen the institutional recognition of cultural mediation and promote a critical and empowered citizenry through culture.
