Bio / presentation

The Association of European Journalists (AEJ) is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1962 to promote European understanding and defend press freedom. It brings together journalists from across Europe who are committed to quality journalism, democratic debate, and the values of European integration. The AEJ organizes seminars, conferences, and publishes on politics, economics, society, and media issues. In Spain, the national section serves as a forum for dialogue between journalists, intellectuals, and policymakers. It also awards the European Journalism Prize. AEJ is a member of the European Journalists Association, based in Brussels, and works closely with European institutions. It defends journalism as a pillar of democracy and civil rights.
