The Picarral “Salvador Allende” Neighborhood Association, founded in 1969/70 in Zaragoza, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the Picarral district. It emerged to organize residents in response to a lack of infrastructure and public services. After over 50 years of civic engagement, the neighborhood now has schools, healthcare centers, public transport, and green areas. The association remains active today, addressing current challenges such as the digital divide, migrant support, unemployment, and gender equality.
