Bio / presentation
Baluarte Aragonés is a cultural group founded in Zaragoza in 1977 and officially established as a Cultural Association in 1981. It specializes in teaching and promoting Aragonese folklore, training thousands in dance, music, and singing. In 1988, it became a professional company with over 140 members, performing around 250 shows annually in theaters across Spain and abroad. It created its own lute orchestra, collaborated with institutions such as the Government of Aragón and El Corte Inglés, and partnered with theatrical and zarzuela productions. The group has represented Spain in numerous cultural weeks worldwide and appeared on European and Spanish TV. Recognized for revitalizing traditional folklore, it has produced over 30 original shows and received awards for its costumes, staging, and cultural contributions. Baluarte Aragonés has become a reference in modernized folklore, combining tradition and innovation, earning the public’s appreciation and critical acclaim over more than four decades of artistic activity.
