Basurama is a collective focused on research, creation, and cultural and environmental production, exploring waste generation and management in contemporary society. Founded in Madrid in 2001, it approaches these issues through a critical, interdisciplinary lens that merges art, ecology, and civic participation. Through urban interventions, workshops, publications, and international collaborations, Basurama rethinks consumption, sustainability, and the creative potential of “waste” as a cultural and political resource. Its playful and educational approach transforms neglected spaces into hubs for community engagement and collective transformation. With projects in over 20 countries, Basurama is a global reference in urban art and critical environmental practices.
