Bio / presentation
Bloom, operated by Cooperativa Sociale Il Visconte di Mezzago since 1987, is one of northern Italy’s most iconic independent cultural centers. Located in Mezzago, it features a concert hall (300 capacity), cinema (72 seats), classrooms, a bar/restaurant, and a summer pizzeria on the terrace. Its program includes weekly concerts, art house cinema, theater, courses (dance, music, yoga, etc.), visual art exhibitions, and talks on social and environmental topics. It hosts festivals such as Terrestra (ecology and local producers) and Bombetta Festival (comics), as well as music events in partnership with indie labels. Bloom also extends its reach beyond its venue, organizing cinema and cultural events in nearby cities. It is unique for its long-standing history and cultural influence—having hosted Nirvana, Green Day, and more, Bloom remains a key hub in northern Italy’s informal cultural networks.
