Bio / presentation
The Metropolitan Cultural Center of Quito, located in the heart of the Historic Center, is one of Ecuador's most iconic cultural venues. It occupies a 17th-century heritage building that has witnessed key moments in national history. Currently managed by the Municipality of Quito's Secretariat of Culture, the center offers a diverse program including art exhibitions, talks, workshops, educational activities, and performing arts. Its mission is to foster access to culture, promote critical thinking, and strengthen ties between art, community, and memory. With its restored colonial architecture and modern facilities, the CCM is a gathering place for artists, researchers, local communities, and visitors. Free admission and a strong focus on cultural inclusion make the CCM a national reference for heritage preservation and cultural rights promotion.
