Bio / presentation
Chico-Trópico is a multidisciplinary artistic collective founded in Madrid in 2010, initially as a pioneering festival promoting Latin American psychedelia and new tropical sounds. Since 2013, it has operated as a hub for artistic actions encompassing music programming, performance, education, and community creation. Its most emblematic project is La C.O.S.A. (Organized Center of Mobile Sound), a mobile recording studio caravan that has traveled through neighborhoods, festivals, and cultural centers across Spain, recording local residents and producing over forty albums and audiovisual experiments. Chico-Trópico has developed projects in institutions such as La Casa Encendida, Matadero Madrid, CA2M, Prado Museum, MACBA, and Fundación Botín, among others. Additionally, it has created innovative festivals like Festivaluno and Pueblo Exterior, performances such as "La plaga del baile" and "SÚPER," and sound workshops like "Panra!". In 2020, they launched the band Teleclub, and in 2024, Pedro Buschi presented his tropical psychedelia project Demetrio.
