Cinema ARTA, managed by the non-profit organization Asociația ARTA în dialog, is a landmark independent cinema located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Founded in 1913, it is one of the oldest cinemas in the country and has been revitalized as a multidisciplinary cultural space focused on auteur cinema, documentaries, and contemporary creation. Its programming includes regular screenings, festivals, workshops, artist residencies, debates, and non-formal educational activities. ARTA has become a meeting place between cinema, art, and community, offering a space for intercultural dialogue and critical reflection. The association collaborates with local and international institutions and is part of cultural networks such as Trans Europe Halles. Its mission is to promote access to culture, support emerging creation, and foster interaction among different artistic disciplines and diverse audiences, turning cinema into a platform for active participation and social transformation.
