The Confederació Sardanista de Catalunya is the entity that groups and represents the various associations and groups dedicated to the sardana, the national dance of Catalonia. Founded with the purpose of preserving and promoting this unique cultural expression, the Federation actively works on its dissemination, teaching, and dignification. It organizes championships, "cobla" (sardana orchestra) gatherings, and "aplecs" (sardana meetings), fostering citizen participation and the intergenerational transmission of this collective dance. Its work is crucial for keeping the sardana alive, not only as an artistic manifestation but also as a symbol of identity and social cohesion. The Federation ensures the purity of the tradition and its adaptation to new times, guaranteeing that the sardana remains a vibrant element of Catalan intangible cultural heritage.
