Coòpolis is a public-cooperative initiative that promotes the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Barcelona. As part of the Xarxa d’Ateneus Cooperatius de Catalunya, it focuses on the creation of new cooperatives and the generation of employment within the cooperative sector. Located in Can Batlló, Coòpolis provides training, mentorship, and shared workspaces for individuals and organizations aiming to build sustainable, democratic initiatives. It promotes intercooperation, local economic resilience, and social transformation. Acting as an urban lab for cooperative economy, Coòpolis is a tool for developing cooperative cities—new territories where economic activity serves people and the common good.
