Bio / presentation
Espacio Afro is the cultural center promoted by the association Conciencia Afro in Madrid, conceived as a reference space for Black, African, and Afro-descendant communities. Located at Calle Cáceres 49, it was created with the goal of becoming a cultural, political, and community hub where knowledge, artistic expression, and collective processes converge. Espacio Afro hosts educational, artistic, archival, and community-based activities such as workshops, presentations, film screenings, and exhibitions. Its mission is to build community, reclaim Black memory, and make Afro cultures visible in all their diversity, grounded in self-management, dignity, and collective empowerment.
