Bio / presentation
The Fardes River Valley Palaeontological Station is a field facility belonging to the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME), where research, dissemination and teaching activities are carried out around the early Pleistocene large mammal site of Fonelas P-1. The first phase of this station, the Fonelas P-1 Paleontological Centre, was built in 2013 to safeguard the paleontological heritage of this site and to facilitate research and outreach activities in the field.
