The European Choral Association – Europa Cantat is the leading European network for choral singing as an artistic expression, social participation, and cultural development. Founded in 1963, it brings together organizations, choirs, conductors, and singers from over 40 countries. Its mission is to promote collective singing as a tool for inclusion, wellbeing, and intercultural exchange. The association organizes festivals, international gatherings, workshops, and educational projects—most notably the Europa Cantat Festival, one of the world’s largest choral events. It also works to make choral practice more accessible to young people and diverse communities, encouraging artistic innovation and advocating for supportive cultural policies. Based in Germany, it represents the choral sector in Europe and promotes singing as living heritage and a force for social cohesion.
