The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) is an independent organisation based in Amsterdam, dedicated to promoting cultural cooperation in Europe. Founded in 1954, its mission is to strengthen European identity through art, education and intercultural collaboration. ECF funds innovative projects that promote democracy, inclusion and understanding between cultures. It supports artists, activists and organisations that use culture as a tool for social change and cohesion. Its initiatives include the Culture of Solidarity Fund, which supports cultural responses to crises, and the Princess Margaret Award for Culture, which recognises significant contributions to cultural thought and action in Europe. Throughout its history, ECF has fostered collaborative networks and programmes that connect communities, promoting a more united and resilient continent.
