Bio / presentation

The European Theatre Convention (ETC) is the largest network of public theatres in Europe, committed to fostering the creation, cooperation, and circulation of contemporary theatre productions. Founded in 1988, ETC brings together over 60 theatres from 30 countries, encouraging artistic exchange, professional development, and cultural diversity. The network supports stage innovation through residencies, co-productions, educational programs, and social inclusion initiatives. ETC also promotes digital tools in theatre, environmental sustainability, and artistic freedom. It actively works to ensure that European theatre remains accessible, relevant, and engaged with current societal issues. Through initiatives such as Young Europe and the Green Theatre program, ETC embodies a dynamic, collaborative vision of theatre as a public good.
