Bio / presentation
The Federation of Publishers’ Guilds of Spain, established in 1978, is a private-law entity that brings together the main regional publishers’ associations and guilds. Its core mission is to represent and defend the interests of the Spanish publishing sector. According to its bylaws, the Federation undertakes several key activities: defending intellectual property rights, supporting Spanish publishers’ participation in international fairs and trade missions, organizing LIBER—the largest professional publishing fair in Spain—, representing Spanish publishers in international organizations, acting as a liaison with public administrations, and producing reports on book trade and reading habits. The Federation’s governing bodies are the Board of Directors and the General Assembly, which are responsible for strategic decisions and overall direction. Through these functions, the Federation plays a central role in shaping, defending, and promoting the Spanish publishing industry both nationally and internationally.
