Bio / presentation

The Barceló Foundation, established in 1989 by the Barceló family and based in Palma de Mallorca, is a non-profit organization committed to improving society, especially in vulnerable countries across Africa and Latin America, as well as supporting disadvantaged groups in Mallorca. Since its inception, it has carried out 1,799 projects in 44 countries, benefiting over 3 million people. Its work focuses on key areas for development such as health, education, microcredits, agriculture, the environment, and also art and culture, seen as essential elements of human and social progress. Guided by a philosophy of helping those most in need with the greatest possible efficiency, the foundation operates from a historic building classified as a cultural heritage site, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, solidarity, and equal access to opportunities.
