Santiago Cortegoso and Marián Bañobre founded Ibuprofeno Teatro in 2010 to develop theatre projects independently, integrating playwriting into the creation and staging process. We strive for rigor in dramaturgy, acting, and the conception of both texts and creative methods. We enjoy addressing key issues affecting contemporary human beings, through characters who search for their individual identity in a globalized and complex society they cannot control, leading them into absurd situations laced with sharp and sarcastic humor. In early 2020, we premiered our seventh show, marking the company’s tenth anniversary. Over this decade, we have performed at many venues and festivals across Galicia and beyond, receiving warm receptions and recognition through awards such as the María Casares for Best Actress, Costume and Author, finalist spots at the Max Awards in Directing and Playwriting, and the Álvaro Cunqueiro Prize for Playwriting, among others.
