Bio / presentation
The Instituto Inhotim, located in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, is a contemporary art museum and botanical garden that merges art, nature, and education. Founded in 2002, it houses over 700 works by more than 60 artists from nearly 40 countries, displayed in galleries and open-air spaces across 140 hectares. Additionally, it features a botanical garden officially recognized since 2010, with over 4,300 plant species from all continents. Inhotim is a private, non-profit organization, recognized as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) since 2008. Its mission is to conserve, exhibit, and produce contemporary artworks, as well as to undertake educational and social initiatives.
