Bio / presentation
The Blue House, located in Coyoacán, Mexico City, is where Frida Kahlo was born, lived, and died. Now a museum, the house preserves the intimate and personal atmosphere of the artist. Built in the early 20th century, it was also home to Diego Rivera, who donated it to the Mexican people after Frida’s death. The museum holds personal belongings, original furniture, artworks, photographs, and letters, as well as her studio and a lush garden with native plants. The Blue House offers deep insight into Kahlo’s life, pain, creativity, and identity, making it one of the most visited museums in Mexico. Every room reflects her rebellious and passionate spirit. As a powerful symbol of Mexican culture and female strength, the museum is a place of pilgrimage for art lovers and those fascinated by Frida’s legacy.
