La Fura dels Baus is a Catalan theatre company founded in 1979 in Moià, near Barcelona. From the beginning, it has stood out for its innovative, transgressive, and experimental approach to the performing arts. Known for redefining traditional theatre, the company uses unconventional spaces and actively involves the audience in its productions. With a multidisciplinary style, La Fura dels Baus blends theatre, music, technology, opera, and audiovisual art to create immersive and sensory-rich experiences. Iconic productions such as Accions, Suz/o/Suz, Tier Mon, and Carmina Burana—the latter acclaimed worldwide for its powerful staging and live music—have cemented its international reputation. The company has taken part in major global events like the opening ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and collaborated with major brands. In 2017, they launched the Épica Foundation, a space for research and creation linking art, science, and technology. Today, La Fura dels Baus remains a global pioneer in theatrical innovation.
