Bio / presentation
Manifatture Knos is an independent international cultural centre based in Lecce, Italy, born from the community-led restoration of a former engineering training school. The building is owned by the Provincial Council of Lecce, and since 2006 has been managed by the Sud Est cultural association through a shared cultural project. The centre focuses on research, training, and artistic production in an atmosphere of complete creative freedom and organisational autonomy. Its mission is to engage citizens, artists, and cultural professionals in experimental practices across social and cultural fields. Through this collective approach, Manifatture Knos has grown into an evolving urban laboratory that supports the creation of new cultural associations and innovative projects rooted in civic participation and artistic experimentation.
