Matrioshka Teatro was born slowly, crafted by three women: Anabell Gago, Chelo do Rejo, and Lorena Conde. Their theatre stems from the desire to create what they themselves long to see on stage. Rooted in the legacy of past generations, they share stories with those who are and those yet to come, nurturing and embracing through art. Their work blends classic and contemporary forms, embracing hybrid languages and stage-born dramaturgies. They believe in a theatre where performers are central, engaging in open dialogue with the audience. Along the journey, artists such as Marta Pazos, Uxía P. Vaello, Javier Quintana, Inés Salvado, and Borja Fernández have joined the project. Together, they form a collective devoted to creating compelling, surprising, and emotionally resonant works for the Galician stage—offering stories that touch, challenge, and connect.
