Bio / presentation
The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage of the Maldives is the government body responsible for preserving, promoting, and developing the national language and the country’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Based in Malé, the ministry leads initiatives to safeguard Maldivian cultural identity, support linguistic research, maintain monuments, and manage museums and archives. It also coordinates cultural policy and heritage protection strategies while promoting public awareness and education. The ministry oversees institutions such as the Dhivehi Language Academy and the National Centre for Heritage, ensuring continuity and sustainability of Maldives’ cultural legacy.
