Bio / presentation
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante (MACA) is one of the city’s most iconic cultural spaces. Opened in 2011, it is housed in a 17th-century historic building facing the Basilica of Santa María. The museum hosts an outstanding collection of modern and contemporary art, including works by Picasso, Dalí, Miró, Tàpies, and Chillida, among others. It also offers temporary exhibitions and educational activities. MACA stands out for its fusion of old and modern architecture, and its strong commitment to promoting 20th- and 21st-century art. It is managed by the City Council of Alicante.
