Bio / presentation

The Museum of Natural Sciences of the University of Zaragoza was founded in 2013 as a public institution and is part of the Aragonese Museum System. Its founding collections include the Longinos Navás Collection (deposited by the Jesuits in 1988) and a paleontology collection gathered through excavations in Aragón and beyond. The museum operates in two locations: the permanent exhibition in the historic Paraninfo building (a protected cultural landmark since 1893), and the Geology building of the Faculty of Sciences, which houses the fossil storage area, preparation laboratory, library, and research facilities. The Paraninfo is notable for its artistic and institutional value, hosting an exhibition divided into three main areas over 950 m². The museum serves as a hub for scientific research, heritage conservation, and public education, establishing itself as a cultural and academic landmark in Aragón.
