The Roman Theatre of Zaragoza was built in the 1st century A.D. in the ancient Caesaraugusta, without doubt the theatre was a monumental building and the most popular in the city. Its construction began in the time of Tiberius and continued until the reign of Claudius. The theatre was preserved until the 3rd century AD, and some of its materials were used in the rebuilding of the city walls and in the foundations of Islamic, Christian and Jewish dwellings.
