Bio / presentation
The Interactive Music Museum of Málaga (MIMMA) invites visitors to actively engage with its exhibits, emphasizing hands-on learning. Its collection includes musical instruments from all eras and cultures around the world. The museum is divided into three types of color-coded spaces. The white rooms house large-format instruments like pianos, as well as temporary exhibitions and archaeological remains. The black rooms contain the permanent collection, where visitors can explore the history of music, from its origins to electronic music, with interactive stations that allow them to listen to sounds, watch videos, and play games. Lastly, the red spaces, called "Please Play," are the most distinctive, giving visitors the opportunity to play instruments and experiment with music. A virtual teacher guides them in playing various instruments, such as the violin, udú, cello, guitar, and flamenco cajón. These interactive features make MIMMA a unique experience focused on musical exploration and learning.
