Bio / presentation

The Seurasaari Open-Air Museum is located on an island just outside the center of Helsinki, Finland. It features over 80 traditional Finnish buildings from the 18th to the 20th centuries, relocated from different regions of the country. These reconstructed homes, farms, mills, and churches reflect Finnish rural life through the ages. In summer, costumed interpreters bring to life traditional customs, daily work, and seasonal celebrations. The island’s natural surroundings enhance the immersive experience. The museum stands out for its commitment to cultural education, heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism. It is a key institution in showcasing Finland’s vernacular architecture and rural history.
