Bio / presentation

The Norsk Folkemuseum, located in Oslo, is Norway’s leading museum of cultural history. Founded in 1894, it features over 150 historic buildings from across the country, including the iconic 13th-century Gol Stave Church. Its mission is to preserve and present everyday life in Norway from rural to urban contexts, spanning pre-industrial times to the modern era. In the open-air section, costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional crafts and daily scenes. The indoor exhibitions cover Sami culture, 20th-century urban life, and rich ethnographic collections. This immersive museum experience connects history, architecture, traditions, and cultural diversity through education and living history interpretation.
