Nová Cvernovka is a cultural and creative center located in Bratislava, Slovakia, operated by the Cvernovka Foundation. Founded in 2016 by a displaced creative community, it now occupies 18,000 m² of a former chemical school. The site includes a multifunctional terrace, film and photography studios, a community garden, public library, coworking spaces, artist residencies, and over 130 creative studios. The center offers diverse cultural and educational programs spanning music, visual arts, literature, film, performing arts, and cross-genre formats. Nová Cvernovka functions as a living ecosystem co-led by its community, operating on ecological and economic sustainability. It not only serves the creative sector but also seeks new models of collaboration between nonprofit and public actors, transforming abandoned spaces into vibrant cultural centers and reviving entire neighborhoods.
