Bio / presentation
Excéntricas is a theatre project that moves with ease through the realms of comedy and, more broadly, uses humor as a lens through which to view the world and human nature. The company works in three formats: performances by the duo Mofa & Befa, featuring handcrafted, original creations; solo shows by Quico Cadaval; and a line of works based on contemporary playwrights like Shakespeare, McDonagh, Topor, and Valle-Inclán, all using humor as a critical tool and knowledge as material for satire and laughter. Some of their most acclaimed productions include Shakespeare para ignorantes, Un cranio furado, A cabeza do dragón, and Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, premiered in 2019. Their newest production, Estrela do Día, will debut in early 2021.
