Bio / presentation
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, located in Madrid, is one of Spain’s oldest and most prestigious cultural institutions. Founded in 1752, it has played a vital role in training artists and promoting visual arts. Its headquarters, a magnificent 18th-century palace, houses an outstanding collection of paintings, sculptures, engravings, and decorative arts, including works by Goya, Zurbarán, and Sorolla. Beyond being a museum, the Academy remains active as a center for research, conservation, and artistic dissemination. It is a cultural landmark within the Spanish art scene.
