Bio / presentation

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, located in California (USA), protect some of the planet’s most ancient and massive giant sequoia groves. Established in 1890, Sequoia was the second U.S. national park, and together with Kings Canyon, it forms a single administrative unit. The parks are home to the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree on Earth by volume, along with alpine landscapes, deep canyons, and subterranean cave systems. Popular for hiking, climbing, and wildlife observation, the parks offer visitors a unique connection to ancient nature. They are managed by the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) under the Department of the Interior. These parks represent a landmark in forest conservation and North American natural heritage.
