SIL Producciones / Artes en movimiento aims to be a collaborative platform for artists from various disciplines linked to movement, including musicians, lighting and costume designers, performers, dancers, actors, and any other professionals in the performing arts. Based in Galicia for the past four years, artistic director Mikel Arístegui has over 30 years of experience as a creator and collaborator in Germany, Switzerland, France, the UK, Italy, Ireland, and Poland. He has worked as a performer and co-director with renowned artists such as Thomas Ostermeier, Sasha Waltz & Guests, and DV8 Physical Theatre. Alongside Marcela San Pedro, he won First Prize at the 8th Madrid Choreography Contest (1994) and has since choreographed for festivals across Europe and South America. He also created the 1st and 2nd Basque Choreographers Festival in Berlin (2009 and 2011). In Galicia, he works to bring contemporary dance and physical theatre to rural areas. He is a board member of ADDE-Dantza and president of Danza-T, a national dance professionals’ network.
