Bio / presentation
Created in 1928, it is one of Costa Rica's most important venues for artistic performance, hosting high-level national and international shows. The Melico Salazar Popular Theatre is an institution of the Ministry of Culture and Youth specialising in the promotion and comprehensive development of the performing arts. It facilitates the public's access to various artistic and cultural expressions through the programming and production of shows, art festivals, dance and theatre training workshops, and the financing of specific projects. It includes the National Theatre Company, the National Theatre Workshop, the National Dance Company, the National Dance Workshop and Proartes.
