Bio / presentation
In 2021, Fer Francés launched his new personal project, VETA by Fer Francés, a 1,200-square-meter space dedicated to painting, located in the Carabanchel district of Madrid. It opened in November 2021, breathing new life into several unused industrial warehouses and becoming a refuge for emerging art. The gallery's program includes artists at different stages of their careers, fostering intergenerational dialogue. It represents renowned Spanish artists such as Abraham Lacalle and Santiago Ydáñez, alongside international figures like Erik Parker and Christian Rex van Minnen, as well as emerging global talents. Currently, VETA is undergoing a major renovation and expansion, led by the renowned Spanish architecture firm RCR, winner of the 2017 Pritzker Prize. The gallery aims to break with the traditional "white cube" concept, offering a multidisciplinary space and transforming Carabanchel, Madrid's most populous district, into a new artistic hub.
