Bio / presentation

The Gernika Peace Museum is a thematic museum that wants to bring to all visitors what happened that April 26, 1937 (bombing of Gernika, Spanish Civil War) using various questions, throughout its permanent exhibition, that help to reflect the visitors on: 1. What is peace? 2. What is the legacy of the Gernika bombing? 3. The bombing told by the people who lived it 4. What is currently happening with Human Rights in the world?

    Memoritour Gernika

    The Gernika Peace Museum launches the "Memoritour Gernika" program, consisting of several walking tours in which the memorial, symbolic, historical and cultural heritage of the town is shown. There are currently 7 tours on offer within the "Memoritour Gernika" programme: 1-Anti-aircraft shelters 2-The reconstruction 3-Monuments and memory 4-Picasso and the Guernica 5.The cemetery of Gernika 6. Women from Gernika 7.War correspondents at the spanish Civil War

    Documentation Centre on the Bombing of Gernika

    The Documentation Centre is a public service which has a collection made up of books, documents, magazines and audiovisual material open to everyone interested in it. The Documentation Centre covers the following areas: -The bombing of Gernika. -The Spanish Civil War. -The exile.

    Educational department and projects

    The museum's educational department develops numerous didactic workshops and educational resources to deepen the themes worked on by the museum (in-situ and online). It also participates, usually in specific projects in the museum's work areas (Art and peace, Art and memory., Human Rights, memory ..), both own projects and European projects. It provides complementary resources both to the permanent exhibition and to the temporary and traveling exhibitions organized or hosted in it.
