The Agro-food Technological Institute of Extremadura (INTAEX), established in 1986 by the Regional Government of Extremadura and part of CICYTEX since 2013, specializes in research, innovation, and technology transfer for the agri-food industry. Located in Badajoz, INTAEX provides high-value services including food product characterization, transformation, preservation methods, and process optimization. Its seven key areas cover oil, biotechnology, meat, wine, dairy, post-harvest, and vegetables, supported by transversal laboratories. The 5,000 m² facility includes advanced technology labs, pilot plants, sensory analysis rooms, and high-pressure processing equipment. INTAEX’s mission is to boost SME competitiveness through innovation, product quality improvement, and specialized training, meeting both domestic and global market demands and fostering technology-based growth for the agri-food sector.
